Trial type related differences in beta power. (A and B) Cue and response aligned time evolving beta power changes averaged over all STN (A) and mPFC (B) electrodes during the Go, Conflict, and NoGo trials. Time points exhibiting a significant difference between trial types (P < 0.05, corrected for multiple comparisons, permutation test) are denoted by coloured horizontal bars denoting which comparison was made. Whereas the STN showed a pre-response decrease in beta power that was suppressed when movement had to be completely withheld, the mPFC showed a post-response increase in beta power that was suppressed during the more difficult Conflict trials.
