The insect transcription factor (TF) atlas, including the well-studied TFs and their related references collected in the review (See Table S1 for more detailed information about these TFs, and we apologize to researchers whose work could not be discussed and cited in the main text due to space limitations). As yet, diverse TFs have been documented in at least nine different insect orders including Diptera, Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Thysanoptera, Blattaria, Neuroptera, and Hymenoptera. Different insect species are also denoted by colored circles on the vertical line.
