Lack of IFN-γ expression reduces, but does not abolish, LXR-inhibited HSV-1 infection in mouse primary hepatocytes. A: Primary hepatocytes isolated from C57BL/6 mouse liver were infected with HSV-1 at the indicated MOI for 2 h. Cells were then cultured in fresh complete medium for 16 h. B: Primary hepatocytes isolated from C57BL/6 or IFN-γ−/− mouse liver were pretreated with T317 and 25HC for 24 h and then infected with HSV-1 (MOI = 0.5) for 2 h followed by T317 and 25HC treatment in fresh complete medium for 16 h. HSV-1 infection in primary hepatocytes was determined by Western blot. aP < 0.05, bP < 0.01 versus control or as indicated (n = 3).
