A schematic comparing the ink-jet and direct-write 3D printing methods. Ink-jet printing uses the “bottom-up” approach to create a three-dimensional scaffold and prints a “skeleton” of the object created by printing droplets of the material. Direct-write method prints the design layer by layer using pneumatic or mechanical power. (Reprinted with permission from [81])
