IDS, CPS, and KS enzyme activity. GC-MS chromatogram from an in vitro enzyme assay of PmIDS with dimethyl allyl diphosphate (DMADP) and isopentenyl diphosphate (IDP) as substrates, with subsequent dephosphorylation with alkaline calf intestine phosphatase. GC-MS chromatograms of organic extracts from E. coli cultures expressing PmKS or synthetic sPmCPS along with either AtCPS or AtKS, with additional engineering for GGDP production. GC-MS chromatograms of geranylgeraniol (dephosphorylated GGDP) and ent-kaurene standards are included for reference.
