Early metformin treatment rescued the repetitive behaviors in BTBR mice. (A) BTBR mice showed severe repetitive behaviors due to high levels of self-grooming compared to B6 mice, and early metformin treatment can reverse it. (B) Metformin treatment tended to reduce grooming bouts in BTBR mice compare with saline-treated BTBR mice, the effect approached statistical significance. (C) BTBR mice showed decreased proportion of incorrect transitions compared to B6 mice, and metformin treatment increased it.
