EtOH treatment (10 days) significantly increases hepatic expression of TLR mRNA and increases the inflammatory response induced by the TLR7 agonist imiquimod in mice. Male C57BL/6J mice were exposed to EtOH (5 g/kg, i.g.) for 10 days. Twenty‐four hours after the last EtOH dose, some mice were exposed to the TLR7 agonist imiquimod (2.5 mg/kg, i.p.) as described in Materials and Methods. Hepatic mRNA expression of (A) the Toll‐like receptors 7, 4, and 9 and (B) the signaling molecules TNF α, KC, iNOS, MyD88, TIMP‐1, and NEAT1 lncRNA were determined by qPCR.
