After 2D cultivation, trypsinized VERO cells were suspended in 3D matrices or placed in the bottom of a 24-well plate either with or without collagen coating for 24 h prior to fixation and parasite counting. Date are means ± SEM, from 4 independent biological samples made in triplicate. No statistical differences between the 2D and 3D conditions were observed (NS; p > 0.05 with χ² test).
