Expression of αv, αvβ3, αvβ5, and β1 integrins in A549 cell clones obtained by stable transfection of A549 cells with a plasmid containing αv integrin subunit cDNA. Cells were detached and incubated with specific antibodies on ice, and cell surface expression of αv, αvβ3, αvβ5, and β1 integrins was analyzed by flow cytometry. The following antibodies were used: LM609 (αvβ3), P1F6 (αvβ5), and 272-17E6 (αv). Representative geometric mean (GEOMean) fluorescence intensities obtained in one of three independent experiments with similar results are shown. The dashed red line in panel A represents expression of αv integrin in A549 cells.
