Relative mRNA levels of preproapelin (APLN, left) and APJ (right) in cultured podocytes in normal glucose medium (NG), high glucose medium (HG) or high glucose medium with 0.1 μmol/L of Ang II (HG+ANGII). APJ mRNA was significantly decreased by HG, whereas preproapelin decreased but not significantly.
