FIGURE 3

Deletion of CdPrsA2 does not affect growth, sporulation or toxin production. (A) Growth in BHIS medium was measured over 24 h every 90 min for the first 14 h. Shown is the mean and standard deviation of two separate experiments performed in duplicates. (B) Sporulation of 630Δerm (wild type) and its isogenic ΔprsA2::ClosTron mutant (ΔprsA2) was induced on sporulation plates for 24 h, and monitored microscopically. The number of spores was put in relation to the vegetative cells in order to assess the sporulation rate in percentage. Shown are the results of three independent experiments. (C) Toxin concentrations in 48 h old culture supernatants were measured by ELISA and revealed no substantial differences between 630Δerm (wild type) and its isogenic ΔprsA2::ClosTron mutant (ΔprsA2).
