(A) Immuno-histochemical analysis of VE-1 (identifies BRAFV600E protein), CD33 (identifies myeloid/ monocytic cells), CD14 (identifies monocytes), CD163 (identifies monocytes/macrophages), MCP-1(attracts monocytes), and P2RY12 (identifies resident microglia) in representative tissue sections obtained from autopsy brain specimens of LCH-ND from a patient who died from progressive Langerhans cell histiocytosis with neurodegenerative disease, demonstrating perivascular white matter infiltration by BRAFV600E+ (VE1+) cells with monocyte phenotype (CD14+CD33+CD163+P2RY12–).
