PRMT5 regulates apoptosis via different mechanisms including transcriptional repression to alter expression of specific micro-RNAs and the RB family of tumor suppressor genes, as well as post-translational modification of key regulatory factors such as CYCLIN A and ASK1 to reduce apoptosis.
