The effect on pulmonary ventilation (V̇_I; A) and breathing frequency (B) of atropine dialysis is dose-dependent as indicated by the finding that in contrast to dialysis of 50 mM atropine (Fig. 1), dialysis of 5 mM atropine (this figure) into the ventral respiratory column did not affect V̇i and breathing frequency differently (P > 0.028) from dialysis of mock cerebral spinal fluid (mCSF) (two-way repeated measures ANOVA).
