A swath of the LMO crystal has only very weak electron density. Shown are Cα‐traces of the four well‐ordered chains (mustard, blue, red, and burgundy) and their symmetry mates (grey) placed in the C203A unit cell (yellow box with the fourfold c‐axis lying horizontally). Shown also is a sphere of the 2F oF c electron density map (blue; contoured at 1.3 ρ rms) centered in the large swath of the crystal in which no model was included when calculating this map. The chain E and F models (at 80% occupancy) later placed in the weak density have average B‐factors of ~110 Å2 and ~120 Å2, respectively, while chains A–D have average B‐factors of ~30, ~45, ~45, and ~65 Å2, respectively.
