(B) The virus subnetwork was isolated from the complete human PPI network by collecting all interactions involved in the shortest paths (red) that connect influenza virus-interacting proteins (blue) to human proteins essential to virus replication (e.g., the internal-essential proteins) (orange). The connecting proteins (black) are candidates to be evaluated for their antiviral properties.
