Kaplan-Meier curves showing risk of recurrence during follow-up

(A) Kaplan-Meier curve of risk of recurrence according to radioactive iodine dose (3·7 GBq or 1·1 GBq). (B) Kaplan-Meier curve of risk of recurrence according to preparation for ablation with recombinant human thyroid-stimulating hormone (rhTSH) or thyroid hormone withdrawal. Kaplan-Meier curves appear to separate after about 7 years but there are only two events in total from this point. At 7 years, recurrence rates were 5·0% (95% CI 2·5–10·0) with thyroid hormone withdrawal and 8·3% (95% CI 4·5–15·3) with rhTSH, with overlapping confidence intervals.
