The Ca2+ entry mode of NCX contributes to removal of external Na+ (0 Na+)-induced increase in [Ca2+]cyt in individual mouse tracheal smooth muscle cells. After mouse tracheal smooth muscle cells were loaded with Fura 2-AM, [Ca2+]cyt was measured by digital Ca2+ imaging system. (A) Representative records showing the time course of 0 Na+-induced [Ca2+]cyt changes in individual mouse tracheal smooth muscle cells (left panel) and with inhibition by 10 μM KB-R7943 (right panel). (B) Summarized data showing amplitude of [Ca2+]cyt increases in control cells and pretreated with KB-R7943. ∗∗P < 0.01, n = 30 cells for each group.
