VIPER is an enabling technology for multiscale microscopy. (A) A target protein is genetically tagged with the CoilE peptide. Then the tagged protein can be labeled by dimerization with a CoilR peptide covalently bound to various chemical reporters, including BODIPY, Sulfo-Cyanine5 (Cy5), or biotin for detection by a streptavidin-Qdot.
