MLC901 decreased the increase of pro-inflammatory cytokine/chemokine protein concentration in mouse brains 24 hours after MCAO. The pro-inflammatory cytokines IL6, TNFα and chemokine CCL2 were quantified by cytometric bead array. Data were obtained from reperfused (R) and not reperfused (NR) brains. Bars represent the mean ± SEM. ^$P < 0.05 versus vehicle-group, ^#P < 0.0 versus non-reperfused vehicle-group, *P < non-reperfused MLC901-group (n = 6 to 10 per experimental group) (Mann & Whitney test).
