Effect of CAPP treatment of Salmonella enterica on lentil seeds. Inoculation was performed either as high initial inoculation (1.9 × 108 CFU/g) or low initial inoculation (1.1 × 105 CFU/g) prior to treatment of seeds for 3, 5 or 10 min in the DCSBD. Logarithmic reductions were represented as log10 CFU/g ± standard deviation. The limit of detection was 10 CFU/g for low initial inoculation and 100 CFU/g for high initial inoculation. Logarithmic reduction below the limit of detection is indicated by an asterisk.
