Cross-reactivity assay for HCMV. The primers and fluorescent probe used for detecting HCMV were tested for cross-reactivity with the other viruses (as is indicated in the top of each panel). Positive fluorescent signal was only detected when HCMV DNA or serial dilutions (10⁶–10¹) of HCMV standard plasmid were used as template. For all panels, amplification cycle (Cycle) is shown in the X axis, while the normalized fluorescence (Norm. Fluoro.) is shown in the Y axis. Horizontal red lines indicate the Cycle Threshold. Dotted vertical red lines indicate the LOD. Similar results were obtained for EBV, HHV6, HHV7 and KSHV (Supplementary Figure S1).
