Genital tract infections were performed, and UGT tissue was collected on days 3, 5, and 7 post-infection as described in Materials and Methods. The live chlamydial organisms recovered from the UGT were titrated, and the results were expressed as IFUs/ml recovered along the Y-axis. Data shown are pooled results of 3 individual experiments resulting in the total of n = 15 mice for each strain on days 3, 5, and 7. IFU = inclusion forming units. The data are represented as mean (SD) ** = p <0.005 and *** = p <0.001 when comparing WT vs. TLR3-deficient mice on that given day.
