Incorporation of ECM-derived peptides and hydrogel stiffness impacts the attachment and spreading of GFP cells. Similar to GFP+ cells, RGD and IKVAV-functionalized hydrogels promoted higher cell attachment and cell spreading. Cell spreading was enhanced on RGD-functionalized hydrogels as gel percentage increased. In comparison, peptide-free and IKVAV-functionalized hydrogels promoted higher cell spreading on the 2% HA hydrogel. Bar = 100 μm, 5×.
