(A) Morphological demonstration of adiponectin inhibition of RANKL-induced osteoclast formation from BMMs. The cells were cultured for 7 days in the presence of macrophage colony stimulating factor and RANKL, and with or without adiponectin. Cells were fixed and subjected to TRAP staining (magnification, ×100). (B) The number and area of TRAP-positive cells was counted. The inhibitory of adiponectin on osteoclast formation was in a concentration-dependent manner. **P<0.01, ***P<0.001 vs. control.
