Treatment of platelets with Zn ²⁺ ionophores clioquinol (Cq) or pyrithione (Py) elevates [Zn ²⁺ ] _i , but not [Ca ²⁺ ] _i . Washed platelet suspensions were loaded with Fz-3 ( A , B , C ), or Fluo-4 ( D , E , F ) and stimulated with Cq (○, 300 µM, A , D ), Py (○, 300 µM, B , E ) or A23187 (○, C , F ).
