Relationship between hippocampal and plasma glucose concentrations in control and GK rats treated or not with caffeine (1 g/L). Data corresponds to steady-state hippocampal glucose levels determined from ¹H NMR spectra measured during 40 min after plasma glucose was stable for at least 15 min. The kinetic parameters of glucose transport estimated from these datasets are presented in Table 2 and all measurements from n = 6–8 animals per group were pooled together.
