Immunohistochemical staining of oxidized lipoproteins (LDLs) in the hemorrhagic area. Paraffin sections of aortic lesions from a hypertensive Watanabe heritable hyperlipidemic rabbits were stained with either hematoxylin and eosin (HE) or immunohistochemically stained with two monoclonal antibodies against human oxidized LDL. Oxidized LDLs were mainly colocalized with foam cells in the hemorrhagic area. Hemorrhagic area defined by a box is shown in higher magnification in the right column. Scale bars = 100 μm.
