Transection rapidly increased neurite dystrophy. (A) At the first time point (mean 2.5 min post transection, SD 1.5 min), transection increased the standard deviation of caliber in 3D-SIM images (ANOVA, p < 0.05, n = 5–6). There was no significant effect of jasplakinolide treatment and no interaction between the effects of transection and jasplakinolide treatment. (B) In vehicle-treated cultures, transection increased the standard deviation of caliber across the time series but there was no statistically significant effect of time and no interaction between the effects of transection and time (ANOVA, p < 0.05, error bars = 1 standard error, n=5–6).
