A. C_Mp (blue trace) and C_Mn (red trace) are the C_M values obtained from the positive and negative displacement current produced by the square-wave voltage stimulus, respectively. C_M (black trace) is the average of C_Mp and C_Mn. The display of C_Mp and C_Mn as separate traces provides information on the voltage dependence of C_M over the span of the stimulating voltage. B. The difference between C_Mn and C_Mp (C_Mn-C_Mp) is a useful parameter for monitoring changes in the voltage dependence of C_M in time. C. I_Hold is the mean of the positive and negative steady currents (I_{S, P/N}).
