Fabrication of KG/PVA‐cryogel samples. A) After mixing of KG with PVA the viscous solution was poured into a Petri dish. B) During the subsequent three freezing‐thawing cycles the layer shrunk to ≈75%. From those layers samples (sa) were drilled out which C) were submersed into a 5% CaCl2 solution, allowing ionic gelation of the KG. The polyP was added as Na‐polyP prior to the ionic gelation.
