Structure-activity studies of hypoculoside. (A) Wild type strain (BY4743), vps35Δ, pep8Δ, vps20Δ, vps27Δ and vps36Δ strains were grown in YPD medium in the presence of hypoculoside or hypoculine at the indicated concentrations. Normalized growth at the different concentrations of hypoculoside and hypoculine tested after 24 hours of incubation at 30 °C is plotted for each strain. Representative data from three independent experiments are shown in the Figure. (B) Wild type strain (BY4743), vps35Δ, pep8Δ, vps20Δ, vps27Δ and vps36Δ strains were grown in YPD medium in the presence of hypoculoside or phytosphingosine or dihydrosphingosine at the indicated concentrations. Normalized growth at the different concentrations of hypoculoside, phytosphingosine and dihydrosphingosine tested after 24 hours of incubation at 30 °C is plotted for each strain. Representative data from three independent experiments are shown in the Figure.
