Hypoculoside does not rescue the growth inhibition caused by myriocin. Wild type strain (BY4743) was grown in YPD medium containing different concentrations of myriocin and either phytosphingosine (PHS) or dihydrosphingosine (DHS) or hypoculoside (HYP) at the indicated concentrations. Normalized growth at the different concentrations after 24 hours of incubation at 30 °C is plotted for the various cultures. Representative data from three independent experiments are shown in the Figure.
