Plasma CBG measurements are consistent across different sites of blood sampling. Blood samples were collected from a peripheral ‘arterialised’ vein from a heated hand (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H and I), as well as from veins draining forearm skeletal muscle (A, B and C; n = 18), abdominal subcutaneous adipose adipose (A, B and C; n = 17), liver (hepatic vein; D, E and F; n = 16) and brain (internal jugular vein; G, H and I; n = 8) veins, and assayed for CBG levels. Plasma CBG levels measured by cortisol-binding capacity (A, D and G), 12G2 ELISA (B, E and H) and 9G12 ELISA (C, F and I) are consistent across the different sites of blood sampling in a given individual.
