When the TGF-β level is low or intermediate, there exists a bi-stable window (WS = {S ∈ [0, 1]: SmSSM}) where both Pt and Pa coexist. (D) For a constant IFN-β signaling, the system transits from Pa- to Pt-modes as the TGF-β level is increased. On the other hand, for a fixed TGF-β level, an increase in S induces a transition from Pt-favoring mode to the Pa-status. Other parameters are given in Table 2.
