Ciliary length is simply the complete length from the tip to the base of the cilium, summing over the areas of all the triangles is the surface area, and the diameter displayed is computed from a model assuming the cilium is a cylinder with a hemispheric cap (Fig. S5). Reporting mean ± SD.
