Historic photographs from the 1960s of the same cardiac specimens with uniatrial but biventricular connection. A rare case (from the Archive, unknown photographer) of absent right atrioventricular connection and the left-sided atrioventricular valve (AVV) straddles into two fully developed ventricular cavities. Besides its aesthetic value, photograph demonstrates AVV anatomy similar to the one found in complete AV septal defects. Note, the aortic valve (AoV) is separated from the AVV by fine muscular conus (*) and is confined in the left ventricle (LV) with fine trabeculations. AoV, aortic valve; AVV, atrioventricular valve; LV, left ventricle; VSD, ventricular septal defect.
