Principle by which meningeal lymphatics can be visualized by contrast enhanced MRI. The MR contrast agent (e.g. Gadobutrol) is administered i.v. and circulates systemically through the vascular compartment. The blood vessels in the brain are tight but when the contrast reaches the leaky dura vessels the contrast agent travels across the interstitial space and into the meningeal lymphatics.
