Close-up view of the rearrangements undergone by the afTMEM16 ligand binding site upon Ca²⁺ binding. TM6 and TM7 are shown in green and TM8 is shown in blue. The residues directly involved in Ca²⁺ coordination are shown as sticks. Upon Ca²⁺ binding, TM6 moves toward TM7 and TM8 while TM8 tilts back toward TM7 to form the binding site.
