Chromosome paints applied to interphase nuclei. Interphase nuclei from KYS root tips were probed with labeled libraries for chromosomes 4 (ATTO-550; red) and 5 (ATTO-488; green). The chromosomes were stained with DAPI (blue). The images reveal that each chromosome occupies a discrete domain and that homologs are not associated.
