The CA-AMCA assay is capable of detecting endogenously expressed BSH both in cell lysates and in vivo for L. plantarum, which is a BSH-expressing habitant of human gut. (A) CA-AMCA (150 μM) was added to buffered solutions containing varying amounts of L. plantarum lysate.
