The five explicative variables considered here (SiO₂ (P₁) and H₂0 (P₂) magma content, open or closed character of the conduit (P₃), occurrence of phreatomagmatism (P₄), and formation of co-PDC plumes (P₅)) are coded as Boolean data type (0/1) to be used in the model selection analysis. The threshold between low and high SiO₂ content is set at 56 wt% for P₁. The threshold between low and high water saturation for P₂ is set considering the inclusion entrapment depth. Missing data for P₂ are compensated by the model.
