Table 1. The increase in surface PS caused by irradiation is unclear but does not appear to be due changes in intracellular calcium translocase activity or total PS.
Units | Control | Irradiated (10Gy) | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
Flippase | Initial rate | 2.03 ± 0.02 | 2.03 ± 0.07 | NS |
Scramblase | Initial rate | 0.75 ± 0.19 | 0.33 ± 0.40 | NS |
Total PS | PS/PI ratio | 7.50 ± 2.57 | 5.28 ± 1.95 | NS |
Calcium | arbitrary fluorescence | 8717.3 ± 421.8 | 7245.5 ± 777.1 | NS |
The activities of the PS translocases, flippase and scramblase, the total amount of PS and intracellular calcium were determined in cfPac-1 cells 24 hr. after 10 Gy irradiation as described in “Materials and Methods”.
