Clinical staging of peripheral lymphedema

Stage Features
I No edema in spite of presence of lymphatic circulation anomalies
II Permanent edema, spontaneously regressing with elevation
III Permanent edema, spontaneously not regressing with elevation, and ingravescent (acute erysipeloid lymphangitis)
IV Fibrolymphedema with “column” limb
V Elephantiasis with severe limb deformation
