In this social dilemma, a task has to be done and b is the benefit of accomplishing the task, while c is the cost for doing the task (where $b,c\in {\mathbb{R}}_{+}$ and b > c). We can observe that if neither of the two players puts an effort to cooperate, the task would not be accomplished with a negative effect for both players.
