Overexpression of PTPN9 inhibited cell growth and induced cell apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells.

Notes: (A) Endogenous expression of PTPN9 was examined in five colorectal cancer cell lines. (B) Real-time PCR was utilized to validate the overexpression efficiency in HCT116. (C) Cell viability was repressed by overexpression of PTPN9 in HCT116 cells. (D) Overexpression of PTPN9 mitigated the colony formation of colorectal cancer cells. (E and F) Activities of caspase-9 and caspase-3 were increased by PTPN9 overexpression in HCT116 cells. (G) The release of cytochrome c into the cytoplasm was enhanced by PTPN9 overexpression. An unpaired Student’s t-test (for comparisons of two groups) was used to evaluate statistical significance (*P<0.05).
