Representative ILC development and cytokine production. Common lymphoid progenitors (CLPs) differentiate into common innate lymphoid precursors (CILPs) that can further give rise to common helper innate lymphoid precursors (CHILPs) or into NK precursors (NKPs). CHILPs give rise to LTi precursors (LTiPs) that differentiate into LTi cells or to ILC precursors (ILCPs) that differentiate into ILC1s, ILC2s, and ILC3s, while NKPs differentiate toward NK cells.
