Cholesterol depletion increases filopodium-like structures in hippocampal neurons and EGL neurons. Examples of hippocampal (A) and EGL (B) filopodium-like structures in axons treated with control culture media, 2.5 μg/ml Nystatin, 2U ChOx, and 0.5 mM MβCD and stained with phalloidin.
