Group-level dynamics of learning agents, described by the two coefficient functions in the FPE: (a) drift F(z) and (b) diffusion D(z). Note how the population size N results in qualitatively differences in the forms of the drift function, which in turn implies different regimes of collective motion. The group dynamics are based on the behaviour developed by learning agents after 104 interaction steps, averaged over the ensemble of agents. Parameters: world size W = 80, sensory range r = 5 (number of bins B = 8) and forgetting parameter γ = 0.002.
