[Y9A]Pep2-8 and [T4R,W12Y]Pep2-8 induce an improved ability of HepG2 cells to uptake LDL from the extracellular environment. Briefly, the decreased ability to uptake LDL by HepG2 cells mediated by PCSK9 is prevented by increasing concentrations of (A) [Y9A]Pep2-8 (0.5 and 1.0 µM) and (B) [T4R,W12Y]Pep2-8 (0.5–10.0 µM), which was about 50 and 5-fold more potent than the reference peptide (Pep2-8) alone, respectively. C represents control without any treatment. Results are expressed as mean ± s.d. of three independent experiments. (*) P < 0.05, (**) P < 0.001, and (***) P < 0.0001.
